BORY, Jean-François (ed.)
Once Again

A facsimile edition of the essential 1968 anthology of concrete poetry edited by Jean-Louis Bory for New Directions, Once Again gathers works from 54 poets from 10 countries – “a group presentation designed to be read as a consecutive ‘visual happening.’”

Amongst the artists and poets included are Dom Sylvester Houédard, Aram Saroyan, Ferdinand Kriwet, Lilian Lijn, Mary Ellen Solt, Patricia Vicinelli, Julien Blaine…

The book opens by an introduction (a visual essay?) by Bory that contextualizes concrete and visual poetry (from the pyramids to the public signs) and analyzes some tendencies in the movement. The work on the cover is Bory’s; the book is dedicated “to the snark” ; )

Thanslations by Lee Hildreth.
