LAMELAS, David; VAN KOOIJ, Barbera (ed.)
A New Refutation of Time
The most complete monograph on the work of Argentinian artist David Lamelas as of today, that covers his work from the early 1960s to the 1990s, with a focus on his groundbreaking use of film, and his projects connected to the international Conceptual art scene. A New Refutation of Time was published in 1997, in conjunction with retrospective exhibitions at Kunstverein München (curated by Dirk Snauwaert), Witte de With, Rotterdam (curated by Bartomeu Marí), and Encore Bruxelles, Brussels (no clue who organized that one).
With essays by Heike Ander and Benjamin H. Buchloh; a 1972 interview with David Lamelas by Lynda Morris; texts by the artist and Raúl Escari; and a detailed catalogue raisonné of his works.
Used copy, in a good state, except for the torn bottom of the spine. The reprint of the book, Publication, that was an “extra” to the catalogue, is missing, but you may be interested in the reprint more recently published by Primary Information.
