The Images of Luis Barragán
The photos presented in this publication show images collected by the Mexican architect Luis Barragán (1902-1988) as part of a reference archive that he displayed on a large wooden monk’s lectern in the living room of his house in Mexico City. The somewhat bulky piece of furniture, occupying almost all of the room in front of a large window facing the garden, presented the particulars of Barragán’s thinking in a fluctuating arrangement of illustrations. During a stay in Mexico City in January 2011, Roger Willems and Mark Manders captured a set of individual images taken against the wooden floorboards of the Barragán House … and it’s a pretty beautiful result!!
