Seven Years – The Rematerialisation of Art from 2011 to 2017

Forget the tiresome reviews of the last “decade”! Since Lucy Lippard, everybody knows that seven is the number that counts when it comes to evaluate how art is developing in relation to ideas and society. Curator Maria Lind’s own Seven Years is a collection of short essays and columns that is edited—and reads—like a diary, a first person account of exhibitions, films, performances, books—dealing with the work of Palle Nielsen, Lisa Robertson, Kajsa Dahlberg, Jeamin Cha, Haegue Yang, Marie-Louise Ekman, or Armin Linke, and events such as the 3rd Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art or the Dhaka Art Summit. Metahaven’s layout evokes a meta-cloudy scrapbook while texts by Goldin+Senneby with Carbonhand©, Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy, Ahmet Öğüt, Philippe Parreno, and Joanna Warsza give the book a multivocal dimension.
