Return to Nevèrÿon is the 4th & final volume in S. R. Delany’s Return to Nevèrÿon whole sword & sorcery series, that “chronicle a long-ago land on civilization’s brink.”

First published as The Bridge of Lost Desire in 1987, it comprises 3 stories – “The Game of Time and Pain,” “The Tale of Rumor and Desire,” and “The Tale of Gorgik” – where the character of Gorgik – his trajectory from servitude to power to abolish slavery – plays one more time a major role, and “Appendix: Closures and Openings.”
