”Noora didn’t know a lot about contemporary art either. The most contemporary art she had seen up to that point had been a Joseph Beuys retrospective at Neue Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. But she was tall, sported a rough, self-inflicted pixie and wore old-fashioned men’s clothes with Dr. Marten lace-up boots. Even though the occasional mispronunciation of the very word “art” gave away her rural provenance, she managed to pass as cool enough among Christina’s more sophisticated friends. Noora enrolled in sculpture class and found that people generally didn’t expect sculptors to be very articulate, which suited her just fine.”
