En 2024, Paris est plongée dans un chaos sans précédent, après qu’un mystérieux Hacker a piraté les Jeux et volé la Flamme. Qui est-il ? un hors-la-loi, un justicier ? Que cherche-t-il réellement à obtenir ? D’où vient-il ? Les services de police et de renseignement sont déboussolés. Qui répondra au défi du Hacker ?

Réalisé en parallèle à une double exposition / parc de loisirs présentée aux Ateliers Médicis, Clichy-sous-Bois, et à Lafayette Anticipations, Paris, à l’été 2024, ce livre, entre le manga et le « livre dont vous êtes le héros », propose à ses lecteur·trices de se lancer à la poursuite du Hacker en se mettant dans la peau d’Everybody : ) Reprenant les éléments des installations présentées dans les deux institutions, La Ruée vers l’or dépasse le cadre des Jeux Olympiques pour prendre les dimensions d’un voyage dans le temps et l’espace. L’ensemble du projet de La Ruée vers l’or a été conçu par des lycéen·nes de Clichy-sous-Bois, qui réinterprètent ici les tropes du space opera, des aventures de pirates et d’arts martiaux à l’aune de leur propre imaginaire.

Le livre comprend un insert, réalisé au cours d’un atelier avec l’Association Presse Offset au DOC, Paris.

Produced in parallel with the eponymous double exhibition / fun park presented at the Ateliers Médicis, Clichy-sous-Bois, and at Lafayette Anticipations, Paris, in the summer of 2024, this book, between the manga and the “choose your own adventure” book, invites its readers to follow Everybody as they chase the mysterious Hacker, who hacked the Paris Games and stole the Flame. Taking elements of the installations presented in the two institutions, The Gold Rush goes beyond the framework of the Olympics to take on the dimensions of a journey through time and space. The entire Gold Rush project was conceived and developed by high school students from Clichy-sous-Bois, who here reinterpret the tropes of space opera, pirate adventures and martial arts narratives in the light of their own imagination.
