Very happy to host Alexander Dumbadze and François Aubart, for a talk about Dumbadze’s new book, Jack Goldstein: All Day Night Sky !
A poignant account of the life and work of legendary artist Jack Goldstein, Dumbadze’s book examines his career, artistic formation, and enduring legacy through a blend of biography, theoretical reflection, and archival research. Moving chronologically through key moments in Goldstein’s life and practice, the book offers a nuanced portrait of a significant artist while exploring broader questions about images, artistic subjectivity, and belief in art.
Dumbadze and Aubart are both well-versed in the artistic experiments of the 1970s and 1980s in the US, and the vicissitudes of their actors – so expect the unexpected, even if you’ve already watched pirate copies of all Goldstein’s movies, from The Jump to A Ballet Shoe on your tablet screen.
