SANDBACK, Fred; TONE, Lilian (ed.)
Fred Sandback: Threading Space

American artist Fred Sandback’s (1943–2003) minimalist sculptural practice was singular in its consistent use of threads, wires and rods. These, he argued, were essential in delineating our “pedestrian space.” Bringing together installations made between 1967 and 2003, Threading Space traces the artist’s signature use of acrylic yarn to draw space itself, and outlines the complexity of the this deceptively simple oeuvre, as contextualized by his drawings, prints and writings.

This bilingual (English/Portuguese) publication includes contributions by Nuria Enguita, Delfim Sardo, Philip Ursprung, Joan Simon and Sandback himself, as well as previously unpublished documentation.
