The second in a series of monographs published by BILL, this publication – presented like a newspaper in an offset printed folder – explores eyes and makeup from Inge Grognard’s unique point of view and lens.
A Belgian makeup artist, embarked on her career in the mid-80s, initiating partnerships with the Antwerp Six: Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Van Saene, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dirk Bikkembergs, and Marina Yee. Her profound collaboration with Martin Margiela spanned 40 collections over two decades, persisting until his departure from the house in 2009. Presently, she maintains a tight-knit working relationship with Demna Gvasalia (Balenciaga) and Glenn Martens (Y’s project, Diesel).
Inge showcased her work in BILL 4, featuring a series of images highlighting faces she did the makeup for. The focus was mainly on eyes, which sparked the idea for this separate publication. Edited and designed by Julie Peeters, EYES is printed in a limited edition of 300 copies.
