In September 1951 Marcel Duchamp sat down with the art collectors and gallerists Harriet and Sidney Janis and their son Carroll for the first of a series of informal interviews. Their conversations, which spanned six recording sessions over the next fifteen months, touch on the artist’s life, work, and philosophy, from his early paintings through the birth of Dada to the controversial works that changed art as we know it.
