DOG DAYS booklaunch with Emily LaBarge
14 November 2025 07:00PM

HOWLING about this ! Very happy to host two wonderful humans on this November night. Emily LaBarge will be in conversation with writer Laura Mclean-Ferris about her newly published book, Dog Days.

Dog Days considers why we tell stories the way we do, and how we might tell them otherwise. Combining memoir and essay, cultural criticism and literary experiment, it begins with a personal trauma—the account of how Emily LaBarge and her family were held hostage during the Christmas holidays of 2009—but looks outward as much as inward for answers.

EMILY LABARGE is a Canadian writer based in London. Her essays and criticism have appeared in Granta, The London Review of Books, Artforum, Bookforum, Frieze, and The Paris Review, amongst others. She is a regular contributor to The New York Times and 4Columns. Dog Days is her first book, WOW !

LAURA MCLEAN-FERRIS is a New York born writer and curator. Among many other experiences, she has been Chief Curator at Swiss Institute, New York. In 2021 she organized the first survey exhibition of Rosemary Mayer. She was the recipient of a 2015 Creative Capital | Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant. And now, she lives in Paris :)
