Compensating Transient Pleasurable Excitations

A book published in conjunction with exhibitions by Koenraad Dedobbeleer held in 2014 at Extra City Kunsthal, Antwerp, and GAK, Bremen. – though its initial spark was the Up Close and Personal exhibition at Cultuurcentrum Mechelen in 2013. The premises of that venue’s classical, museum-style exhibition halls serve as a container for an imaginative show.

This publication lists the complete catalogue for that undertaking, with photographs and reproductions of the numerous and highly diverse works. It opens with an essay by Ad Reinhardt, “Angkor and Art” (1961), and concludes with a bibliography of works and installation diagram of the gallery spaces.
