Join us for the launch of Erin Honeycutt’s book, Dear Enheduanna, with readings by the author, Jackqueline Frost and Darian Razdar!
Part prayer, part performance, part poetic treatise, Dear Enheduanna, is – according to LA Warman – “an erotic romp through language and lesbian history.” It writes out to the high priestess and first known author then swallows whole the epistolary form. Pulp decay as publishing tactic. These are conjuring poems; poems coming after collaboration—entanglement as conceit, as kink, as communion pleasure tactic. Smuggle in a sexy mirror, smuggle in a double-headed dildo, smuggle in a sentence then feel it read back: the author is reader is author is reader.
Erin Honeycutt are a writer based in Berlin. They co-edit Womanwood, a gazette for erotic writing, and Vortext, a mail-order poetry magazine. In 2020, they began the publishing project, Cutt Press for pamphlets, chapbooks, and reprints with archives of Hopscotch Reading Room.
Dear Enheduanna, is published by Ugly Duckling Presse, and we love these books with a comma at the end of the title.
Jackqueline Frost is a poet and cultural theorist from southern Louisiana. Since 2017, she has been writing a long form work of theory-poetry called The Third Event. Composed of seven books about the lost civilisation of Atlantis, The Third Event blends science fiction, metaphysics and anthropology with late modernist poetics. In France, her books – this one for instance – are published by Eric Pesty Éditeur.
Darin Razdar a writer, artist, and independent scholar from Mexico, living in Paris. His work ties together poetics, landscape, and abstraction through the methods of poetry, photography, publication, art-writing, and collaboration…
