An evening with Lieven Lahaye, who will read from recent & upcoming issues of Catalog, his compelling serial publication about… cataloging!
Initiated in 2016, written by Lieven Lahaye and designed by Ott Metusala, Catalog assembles notes, documents, existing texts, dreams, gossip and other materials into a format that shifts between an artist’s book, working file and a script. The series follows how information is gathered, reordered and reused across exhibitions, archives and conversations. Recent topics of Catalog include the near invisibility of the writer Duncan Smith, notes in the library of Kathy Acker, fading traces of cruising, racist graffiti, the lost parts of Sappho’s Fragment 95 and trans-dimensional thin spots.
A book, gathering issues of Catalog published between 2020–2025 will be published in Spring 2026 – with guest contributions by Joke Robaard, Anu Vahtra, Kasia Fudakowski, Meg Miller, Noah Emanuel Morrison, Carlo Canún, Phil Baber and Annie Goodner.
> Lieven Lahaye is an artist, writer and publisher, working between Amsterdam, Brussels and Tallinn, where he teaches at the Estonian Academy of Arts. He is currently a resident at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris/
