COLLIER, Anne
Anne Collier: Eye
Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition by Anne Collier at Lismore Arts Castle: focused survey of the works produced by the artist between 2007 and 2022, that feature images of eyes, including the artist’s own and those sourced from photography manuals, advertisements, comic books, film stills, and album sleeves. Eye considers Collier’s long-standing interest in what curator Michael Darling identified as a “self-perpetuating ocular system”, where the act of looking – or being looked at – is inherent to the photographic process itself.
Featuring essays by Lynne Tillman and Caoimhín MacGiolla Léith, and with comprehensive install images of this unique presentation of Collier’s work to date. Fold out panels, stitched spine, altering paper types, and a cropped cover. [publishers’ note]
