An Occasion to Consider a Book

Through a dramaturgy of choreography, music, and storytelling, Isabel Lewis’s “occasions” are composed social arrangements. The artist’s work often addresses the history of the body, the relationship between mind and body, and ecological thinking.

This is Isabel Lewis’ first artists’ book,  derived from a transcript of an “occasion” hosted by Lewis that formed part of the exhibition Times of Contemporaneity, curated by Claire Bishop and Nuno Crespo. publishers’ note]
