In the context of After 8 Books’ fundraising campaign, François Lancien-Guilberteau suggests a particular symbolic exchange, where wine and money are traded, as well as cryptic images of a community in the making.
Lancien-Guilberteau is currently researching the history of blood donation and transfusion, and how donation campaigns have been developed in recent history, with or without reward systems—blood exchange being a particularly loaded process, not only because of health issues, but also because of the central role blood takes in human life, beliefs and myths.
In his recent work François Lancien-Guilberteau has used LED shoes, geisha make-up, nightingale droppings, and designers’ outfits. He was one of the founders of The Cheapest University in Paris in 2015.
