PORTER, Charlie
What Artists Wear

I'm a mess. The cream sweater I'm wearing right now has so many stains and I have no memory of what caused them. I'm guessing coffee. There's a hole in the seam at the armpit that I've darned but the hole won. (Charlie Porter)

1991. I'm standing behind the counter in Mace watching a boy across the road. He's standing outside Spar in a navy blue sweatshirt. Two figures of undeterminable gender sit in simmetry, back to back. Sitting on invisible ground. KAPPA, the sweater says. Now the boy turns to go inside. The jeans say Pepe. (Charlotte Prodger)
