Let’s celebrate The Beyond Within, with a presentation by artists Maïder Fortuné and Annie MacDonell, and contributors Clara Schulmann and Vincent Broqua!

The book expands on an exhibition by the same title, and gathers documents, such as the scripts of the collaboratively-produced videos by MacDonell and Fortuné, Communicating Vessels and OUTHERE (for Lee Lozano). It explores a range of strategies for reorienting ourselves in relation to the world – radical pedagogy, psychedelic experience, motherhood, friendship, astrology – pointing at the permeability of the self, and the potentials and limitations of artistic and conceptual freedom under late capitalism.

Designed by Cecilia Berkovic, The Beyond Within also includes essays by curators and collaborators including Crystal Mowry, Clara Schulmann, Leila Timmins, and Yan Wu, and interviews with Vincent Broqua, Ian Murray, Mathilde Girard and Cyril Neyrat. It acts not only as a document of the exhibition, but an extension of the artworks and ideas within.
