“Click”, said the camera.

“One fine day Donkey was munching on her favorite breakfast – a bit of grass and some thistles, the pricklier the better – when a truck pulled up. Two strong men jumped out of it. Grunting and sweating, they put up kind of a tent. They were artists and one of them was a photographer. Bu Donkey didn’t realize that.”

A children’s book initiated by publisher Lars Müller, inspired by a cycle of striking animal portraits begun by photographer Balthasar Burkhard in 1995. 

The book is a reprint of the first edition published in 1997, in a smaller format.
