For the Paris launch of her book PRECARIOUS LEASE, a reported essay that tells the story of, among other things, a squat called Le Bloc that was open in Paris in 2012 and 2013, Jacqueline Feldman will be joined for a conversation with writer Joanna Walsh; former residents of Le Bloc and other squats will present their own accounts of what went on there.

Jacqueline Feldman was the recipient of a Fulbright grant for her reporting in Paris, where she lived for years. An Albertine Translation Laureate for her previous book, On Your Feet: A Novel in Translations, which features her translation of a story by Nathalie Quintane, and a graduate of the EHESS-Paris, she teaches expository writing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Joanna Walsh is a multidisciplinary writer for print, digital and performance, and the author of 12 books (several co-written with DIY AIs that she coded), including Amateurs! How We Built Internet Culture and Why It Matters, that as a mater of fact will be launched at After 8 Books the next day. Walsh is also the creator of the digital narratives, seed-story.com and miss-communication.ie; she founded and directed the online activist projects @read_women (2014-18), and @noentry_arts (2019-24).
