We are welcoming two multilingual poets and a Russophone poet – Natalia Fedorova, Inna Krasnoper, Mikhail Shelkovich – for a triple reading at After 8 Books.
Berlin-based translingual poet Inna Krasnoper works with the sound and inner form of words, repetition, and elements of multiple languages. She will read and perform poems from her chapbooks Sealed (2024) and Over Sight (2024), as well as from her forthcoming poetry collection dis tanz.
Natalia Fedorova is a language artist who focuses on the mediation between the languages of humans, technology and ecosystems; she will read from her two recent projects To be the wind for the tree and I write to you from the clouds.
Mikhail Shelkovich is a poet whose poetry explores the issue of addressing a larger audience in a repressive state from a post-Soviet perspective; he will read from his recently published poetry collection, Shostakovich.Tryptich (2024), which looks into the tragedy of mass murder and what it means to be a public artist in the totalitarian regime.
