ABASHIDZE, Elene; TARKHAN-MOURAVI, Lika (ed.)
Danarti #15 — Marijan
The issue gathers research around the legacy of the 20th century feminist poetess Marijan, whose auto-fictional voice often regarded as ‘too honest for a female’, has been severely silenced by the male-dominated institutions of USSR.
A selection of poems has been translated from Georgian to English for the first time by poet and artist Ana Gzirishvili, whereas a poem You Were Not The First Lover (1926) is being published for the first time both as a translation and as an original.
Edited by Lika Tarkhan-Mouravi the issue gathers contributions by: Nino Dzandzava, Ana Chiladze, Ruso Tkemaladze and an interview with writer Tamta Melashvili.
